Bruce has worked in education for the past 21 years serving in various capacities such as, teaching biology and coaching multiple sports. He has been an administrator for the past fifteen years with the Lakeside School District. In 2011, Bruce was named as the MetLife National Association of Secondary School Principals Arkansas Principal of the Year. The same year, Lakeside was named “SREB Outstanding High School”. Under his leadership, Lakeside was one of thirteen schools named to the Outstanding High School list in the United States and the first Arkansas school to gain that distinction. Bruce is currently the Assistant Superintendent at Lakeside School District where he focuses on federal programs and serves as the district curriculum coordinator. His wife Sarah is an elementary STEM teacher. They have three children, Carly (18) Riley (16) and Henry (6).
